The ANATEL certification and approval process begins with the hiring of a OCD (designated Certification body). The contracting must be formal and required by one of the following parties:

  • Manufacturer of the product (technology holder);
  • Supplier of the product in Brazil (physical or legal person, responsible for the marketing, quality and supply of parts and technical assistance of products in national territory);
  • Other companies (national or international) with authorization (proxy) of the manufacturer to manage and negotiate the certification processes with the OCD.

Important: Foreign companies interested in the certification and approval of ANATEL must have a regularly constituted commercial representative in Brazil, who is able to assume the responsibilities arising from the Product Marketing and user assistance in the country.

For the process to be initiated, a reply email should be sent to the technical/commercial proposal with an “agreement”, together with the company’s registration data.
